Oscar Gilet - Black

Our Oscar Gilet comes in two classic colours, red and black, to match with a wide variety of your favourite cycling jerseys. Crafted from a soft-to-the-touch windproof and water-resistant material, with a high neck and covered zip for comfort. Sculpted around the arms for a tailored fit that will not flap in the wind. Easily packable in your jersey pocket should the sun make an appearance, there are three main pockets, one additional zipped valuables pocket and a reflective trim, just in case. A truly versatile addition to your wardrobe.

  • Lightweight, stowable Eagle Print windproof and water-resistant material on the front and back for total cover when the sun dips or the temperature drops
  • YKK covered camlock zip for robust performance and clean look
  • Carbon reinforced, elasticated hem on the front keeps the garment securely in place
  • 3 rear pockets with reflective trim so that you don't have to dig into your jersey pocket underneath to access food on the go, with a 4th zip pocket for storing valuables.

Although he has now slipped into obscurity, his legacy blighted by multiple positive doping controls, Swiss postman Oscar Camenzind shot to the top of the sport by winning the Valkenberg World Championships in 1998. Aided by a talented team doctor and an ability to deliver on the road as efficiently as he previously posted letters, what is less well known is that the following year, in a snowstorm during Belgian Ardennes Classic "La Flèche Wallonne", he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as he struggled to remove his tangled gilet with full winter gloves on. Leaving Italian legend Michele Bartoli to ride off into the distance while he fiddled with his gilet, Hommage au Velo suggest you dress and undress more elegantly should time allow.
